Justin Timberlake is yet another artist to add another cover to the long list. It's for the Haiti Benefit soundtrack that goes to charity, and it currently #3 on USA Itunes.
If only Jason Castro wouldn't have chosen this song to sing on American Idol!!

Haha! I watched part of it and thought it was okay. I think it was just a matter of time before Jeff really broke big. If it wasn't Castro, Simon Cowell would have found a way to make "Hallelujah" money using someone else. It's too bad no one is taking Mr. Cohen's advice to stop milking the darn song. It's also the go to song whenever there's a world disaster. I wish people didn't need to hear some song about the orgasm, set to a sappy video montage, to empower them with the need to go out and donate. Just do what's right and leave the heartstrings tugging to your left-brain!

Urgh Timberlake's interpretation of the song is a really bit too sappy for my taste. I didn't know about Mr. Cohen's statement to leave the song alonge, but I couldn't agree more. Rufus and Joan singing it live at their concerts is one thing, but lull people in with a corny version of it in the hope that they'll donate a little more is really not how this song should be used.
